Is it permissible to eat vegetarian food cooked and served by non-Muslims? Although they say it is vegetarian, I have no way to confirm there is no contamination with something else.

Question:

Is it permissible to eat vegetarian food cooked and served by non-Muslims?

Although they say it is vegetarian, I have no way to confirm there is no contamination with something else.

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Yes, it is permissible to eat vegetarian food cooked and served by non-Muslims.

If you know for certain or you believe that most probably some impure/haram substance must have contaminated the food then it will not be permissible to eat it. Mere doubt is not taken into consideration in the Shariah.

And Allah knows best.
