I have a concern that I’m not certain or sure of. In the Quran Allah swt has said on many occasions that those who turn in repentance towards their creator for the wrong they do in life surely their creator will forgive them of their wrong doing. The question I have is Allah swt also says that we all will be questioned about our time in this life and it will give account. If we repented for all the sins we committed in life and our creator has forgiven us will we still have to answer for them in front of mankind?

Answer:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

If one sincerely repents from a sin, Allah Ta’ala will forgive him and that sin will be erased. This means that he will not be asked about that sin on the day of judgement.

Abu Ubaidah Ibn Abdullah narrates from his father that the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “One who has repented from sins is like one who has no sin.” (Ibn Majah, hadith 4240)

And Allah Ta’ala knows best
